Season Two Releasing THIS week!

I am BEYOND excited, thrilled, and READY to bring you the next season of On What Brings You In… Season 2 is loaded with new mental health discussions, community member perspectives, and professional insight. Plus, lots of bonus content to help you on your mental health journey!

Before starting this journey, I had no clue how much time, effort, and work goes into creating a podcast episode.

Pre-production includes hours of research, screening, and planning. The actual recording consists of many takes, breaks, and readjusting. After this, each episode goes into post-production which includes editing, promoting, and distribution.

Technology isn’t my forte, and I am so blessed to have all the help I can get from The Co-Lab Studios, located in Clearwater, Florida!

I’m not kidding, Christina and Tyler are lifesavers. They are always quick to help with any questions, consistently available for edits (and re-recordings when needed), and listen to ALL of my wild ideas as if I’m not asking too much (even when I know I am).

If you have ever thought about starting a podcast, are looking for an event space, or need any type of promotional work, check out their website here!

Before creating an episode, I consider a wide range of topics. I generally try to have an idea of where an episode will go before recording.

Simultaneously, I want each episode to have an organic feel. I prefer my guest (or guests) to collaborate in real-time, with direct answers to questions and insight. In fact, to reduce rehearsed answers, I rarely inform a guest of specific questions I plan on asking.

Speaking of guests, many efforts go into finding, interviewing, and coordinating with individuals before featuring them on an episode. Not every potential guest is the right fit, and there are many guests who begin the process but do not make it to production.

I am lucky enough to work with many professionals in the field, and as one can imagine, counselors are extremely busy and any extra time they have is precious. In fact, if I do NOT get sent to voicemail when I call, I am taken by surprise!

Every guest who comes on the show is doing this because they believe in the message, they believe in you, and they want to help combat the stigma surrounding mental health! A major shout out, thank you, and gratitude to ALL these individuals!

The second season has an incredible lineup of material! Both the studio and I learned so much from the first season, and we tackled this season head-on (and quickly, I might add!).

My graduate program starts next week with Northwestern University, and our goal was to have most of the second season recorded and ready to release before this next part of my story begins.

This season I focused on diving right into the content. With each episode, I try to empathize with listeners who might be thinking, “Woah, I’ve felt this before…now what?” The more you relate to the material, the more likely you might be to seek mental health services (or manage your current mental health services more effectively).

Do you have a partner who you’ve considered entering a couple’s counseling relationship with? Did you suffer (or are you currently suffering) from postpartum depression after giving birth, but felt (or feel) too much shame to ask for help? When you experience anxiety, do you feel like it’s impossible to calm yourself down?

Do you or someone you know feel changed after serving in our military? Do you know how to help yourself or the person who is suffering? This season will answer these questions and so many more, and I can’t wait to bring you the resources and suggestions to help you through some difficult times.

The outpour of support and advice since launching the first season has been incredible, and I have enjoyed making this season as interactive as possible!

If you want to add to any of the discussions, or if you would like to be featured on a future episode, let me know! The only agenda for this podcast is to fight mental health stigma, the more people we get involved the better!

Season two covers topics from couples counseling to military and mental health, postpartum depression, general anxiety, and a ton of bonus content.

Please like, subscribe, and rate each new episode! The more feedback the better we can make this show!

So much love, peace, and happiness to you all!
